The Atlanta Hawks have added to their coaching staff.

“According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks have hired Igor Kokoschko as an assistant coach.

Kokoschkov has been an assistant coach with the Brooklyn Nets this season. He assisted Jason Kidd with the Dallas Mavericks last season, and this time he was working with former head coach Steve Nash. Although Nash was fired, he helped coach Jack Bynum lead Brooklyn to the playoffs.메이저놀이터

This time, he was called upon by Quin Snyder in Atlanta. Snyder took over the reins of Atlanta during this season. Atlanta fired head coach Nate McMillan during the season after he clashed with Trae Young. Coach Joe Prunty then served as acting head coach for two games before Atlanta named Snyder the new head coach.

Snyder’s first priority after the season was to add to the coaching staff. Atlanta decided to solidify its coaching structure with the appointment of Kokoschkov as head coach. He has worked with several head coaches over the years, most recently with the Phoenix Suns in the 2018-2019 season and Fenerbahçe in the 2020-2021 season. Although he hasn’t had a successful career as a head coach, he is no stranger to coaching.

He started his coaching career back in the 1992-1993 season and became a full-fledged coach in the United States in the 1999-2000 season as an assistant coach for the NCAA Missouri Tigers. A season later, he became an NBA coach with the Los Angeles Clippers. He worked with former head coach Elvin Gentry, reunited with former head coach Larry Brown at the Detroit Pistons, and with Gentry again in Phoenix.

He spent five seasons in Phoenix from 2008 to 2013, with stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and Utah Jazz, and assisted Snyder during his time in Utah. In three seasons in Utah, starting with the 2015-2016 season, he provided leadership to Snyder and the team’s turnaround before going his separate ways as Phoenix’s head coach.

After being fired after just one season in Phoenix, he bounced around from year to year. He joined the Sacramento Kings’ coaching staff, working with former head coach Luke Walton. He then went on to coach Fenerbahçe, Dallas, and Brooklyn. Now that he’s reunited with Snyder after so many years, it’ll be interesting to see if he can take Atlanta to the next level like he did with Utah.
