Cho Kyu-sung’s (Jeonbuk) side has denied a ‘personal agreement’ with Watford of the English Championship.

On the 17th, Yoon Ki-young, the representative of Cho’s agent, Info Korea, said, “It is neither ours nor Jeonbuk’s knowledge that Watford and Cho Kyu-sung have reached a personal agreement on the transfer,” refuting an exclusive report by a media outlet earlier in the day that Cho had signed a personal agreement with Watford.

In this regard, an official familiar with the European transfer market said on the same day, “I understand that a foreign agent pushed for Cho Kyu-sung’s transfer to Watford without a power of attorney. In the process, it seems that the story of Cho Kyu-sung going to Watford came out. The €1.5 million transfer fee was also spread by the agent.”토토사이트

Yoon acknowledged that Watford were interested in Cho Kyu-sung. “Watford is a club we’ve talked to before. When Cho Kyu-sung shook off his injury and started playing, we started talking again. They will send an official offer soon, so we are waiting for it,” he said.

Cho Kyu-sung drew interest from several European clubs late last year after his stellar performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. However, the transfer was not finalized at the time due to the player’s physical condition and the high transfer fee demanded by Jeonbuk.

While interest seemed to have cooled after Cho’s poor start to the season, coupled with injuries, the Spanish, French, and English second-tier clubs reportedly continued to “follow” his progress. The Watford rumors didn’t come out of nowhere.

“I think I will receive an offer by the end of this month, early next month at the latest, and make a decision from there,” Yoon said. He plans to listen to offers from clubs other than Watford.

Cho Kyu-sung has expressed a strong desire to play in Europe this summer. “Of course, I want to move in the summer transfer market, and I’m preparing for it,” he said in an interview during the national team’s training camp on Thursday. I haven’t decided on a team yet. I don’t think there are any offers yet. I expect good news to come when the transfer market opens.”

Cho Kyu-sung has made a resurgence this month, scoring three goals in three K League 1 matches. He came on as a substitute in the 17th minute of the friendly against Peru at the Busan Asiad Stadium on Nov. 16 and showed off his lively movement and header ability for nearly 30 minutes.
