Japan international midfielder Leo Hatate, 25, has had his Premier League dreams dashed.

It was rumored that Enze Postecoglou, formerly of Celtic in Scotland, would attract a host of admirers when he was appointed manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

The likes of Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi and midfielder Hatate were linked with a move to Tottenham, but that turned out not to be the case.

Furuhashi has been touted as a replacement or partner for Harry Kane, while Hatate is more of a midfield reinforcement. As for Hatate, he has a contract with Celtic until June 2025. He has recently attracted interest from Brighton and Hove Albion.토토사이트

“Tottenham are strongly interested in Leicester City midfielders Harvey Barnes and James Maddison,” the English Daily Record reported, “but Hatate’s name is not on Postecoglou’s transfer list. Despite the good relationship between the two, no offer has arrived from Celtic,” adding that a move to Tottenham was only a rumor.

Hatate joined Celtic from Kawasaki Frontale in January last year. He has been a regular in the first team since the 2021/2022 season and has made 45 official appearances this season, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists as the Hoops won three domestic titles. He made his return to the Japanese national team after a nine-month absence during this A-match period, appearing against El Salvador on March 15.
