SK Killer Abando is back.
Anyang KGC Lens Abando (25, 188 cm) played an active role in the second leg of the championship match against Seoul SK in the 2022-2023 SKT A-Dot Professional Basketball Championship held at Anyang Gymnasium on the 27th with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Along with Abando, KGC, which Oh Se-geun (21 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists) dominated under the goal, won 81-67, making the series 1 win 1 loss.
After the game, Abando said, “It’s so good to win. But he shouldn’t be too excited. Because the winner has not yet been decided. I will keep calm and prepare well for the third game,” he said of his victory.
This season, when Abando met only SK, it flew wildly. He recorded 9.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists for an average of 18 minutes and 38 seconds in 39 regular league games.
However, in the first leg of the championship match, Abando was sluggish. He had just 4 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist in 20 minutes and 32 seconds. He had little presence in his offense, attempting only three field goals. Rather, his weakness in defense was more prominent.
“Rather than saying that SK defended well, I lost the fight against myself. I don’t have much experience in big games, and I was nervous. I didn’t get a good play because I lost to myself before fighting the other team.” This is the reason for the sluggishness in the first game, which Abando said. 먹튀검증
KGC and SK are emerging as new rivals recently. Following last season’s championship match, we met on the highest stage this season, and also faced off in the EASL Champions Week final held in Japan last March. Abando, who joined KGC through the Asia Quarter System this season, is also playing the most matches against SK.
Regarding this, “Playing against Seosil SK comes as a big burden. However, I put a lot of effort into shaking off the burden myself. Only then can good results come out, so I try to play the game with the mindset that is as comfortable as possible.”
Ahead of the championship game, coach Kim Sang-shik and Byun Jun-hyeong expected the series to go up to Game 5, and Omari Spellman to Game 6. Abando also expressed his desire to finish the 5th game like coach Kim Sang-shik and Byun Jun-hyung.
Abando said, “The coach and Young-Boi (Byun Jun-hyung) said they would finish the 5th game, so I want to join them. And last season, didn’t SK beat our team in the 5th game to win? This season, our team wants to beat SK in the 5th game and win the championship,” he said of his determination for the remaining games.
