Yoo Ji-na (21, Taewang Honours) recorded her first career victory at the KLPGA 2023 MC Square-Gunsan CC Dream Tour Round 6.
Yoo shot a three-round total of 16-under-par on the Buan (OUT) and Namwon (IN) courses at Gunsan Country Club (Par 72, 6,400 yards) in Jeollabuk-do on the 26th to lift the trophy in a sudden-death playoff with her fellow countrywoman Lee Sun-young 2 (23, On Off Golf).
Yoo carded seven birdies without a bogey in the first round for a 7-under 65 and a share of second place. In the second round, she carded five birdies and an eagle with just one bogey, shaving six strokes off her total to take the lead heading into the final round at 13-under par.메이저사이트
In her final round on the 26th, she carded three birdies to finish at 16-under-par 200. However, she was forced to play a playoff on the 18th hole with Lee and Sun Young Lee, who were tied at 16-under-par.
The competition for the title was fierce as they were unable to decide the winner until the third overtime. In the fourth overtime, Lee missed a 7-metre birdie putt while Yoo made a 1.5-metre birdie putt to secure her first win as a professional.
After graduating from Daegu Youngshin High School and joining the KLPGA in August 2021, Yoo made a speedy debut on the KLPGA’s regular tour last year, finishing second in the 2022 season seeding rankings. Despite a lacklustre start to the 2022 season on the regular tour, the win puts her second on the Dream Tour money list this season and puts her one step closer to returning to the KPLGA Tour next year.
“I’m really happy to get my first win as a professional. I played calmly and without pressure rather than thinking about winning, and I think it paid off,” she said. “I would like to thank my parents for always supporting me, as well as Taewang Chairman Noh Ki-won, Taewang Honours Golf Team Director Noh Kyung-won, and Daegu Country Club President Woo Ki-jung for their generous support.”
