Japan’s Nikkan Sports reported that Luciano had agreed to a contract with the Yomiuri Giants club to foster players. Luciano said, “I am very happy for the opportunity to join Yomiuri. I am looking forward to playing with my new teammate and I am ready to give 100% for the team to win. Thank you to the people at the club.” 안전놀이터
Luciano, from the Dominican Republic, wore the Arizona Diamondbacks uniform as an international free agent (FA) in October 2016. He moved to the Kansas City Royals in the June 2018 John Jay trade and moved back to the Toronto Blue Jays in the Rule 5 draft in December 2018.
Luciano made his Major League (MLB) debut in the spotlight by digesting 1 1/3 innings with the bullpen against the Detroit Tigers on April 1, 2019. At the time, MLB.com reported that Luciano was the first MLB player born in the 2000s at the age of 19 years and 44 days. On April 29 of that year, in a game against the Oakland Athletics, he won a lucky salvation victory and left his name as the youngest winning pitcher in the history of the club.
The time of glory did not last long. Luciano was placed on the disabled list (IL) with a right elbow injury in June 2019 and never returned to the big leagues. Last year, in Double A, a minor league affiliated with Toronto, he played only three innings in two appearances and was out of the season early due to a stress fracture problem. After the season, he was released as a free agent, and after contemplating where to go, he challenged the NPB stage. Luciano’s career in the big leagues (1 year) is 25 matches, 1 win, ERA of 5.35, and the total record of minor leagues (4 years) is 43 matches (34 starts), 9 wins, 9 losses, 1 save, and an average ERA of 3.63.
