Mauricio Pochettino has taken charge of a North London rival. There were rumours of a return to Tottenham, but chairman Daniel Levy didn’t even make an offer.

Pochettino has made a name for himself at Tottenham. Under Pochettino, Tottenham made history by becoming the first club to reach the UEFA Champions League final.
However, after reaching the Champions League final, the entire team became demotivated. Pochettino turned down a number of offers, including Real Madrid, to stay at Spurs, but the team struggled to stay afloat. Spurs eventually sacked Pochettino and appointed a manager who could bring them trophies.
Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, and others who had experience in the Premier League and were dubbed “trophy hunters” took the reins at Tottenham. However, their performances have been inconsistent and they haven’t won the trophy they so desperately wanted. This season, they’ve repeated their worst performances and failed to qualify for any European competitions. Levy has also decided to part ways with Conte.
When Pochettino took over at Paris Saint-Germain, he was strongly linked with a return to Tottenham. The same was true when Conte was about to leave the club. However, according to local reports in the UK, including the London Evening Standard, Spurs did not even approach Pochettino.
Levy’s reasoning for rejecting Pochettino was that ‘Spurs had built a foundation under Pochettino, but wanted a new manager with a younger outlook’. Reportedly, he didn’t want to be ruled by emotion by bringing Pochettino back.
However, Tottenham are struggling to find a new manager at the end of the 2022-23 season. They have been linked with a number of candidates, including Julian Nagelsmann, but have not been able to make a decision.
