Korea sets out to challenge for a second straight victory in the women’s golf national competition, which resumes after 5 years.
The LPGA Tour’s only national competition, the Hanwha Life Plus International Crown (total prize money of 2 million dollars), will be held at TPC Harding Park (par 72) in San Francisco, California for four days from the 4th (local time). 32 players from 8 countries, 4 players from each country, compete to determine the championship.
Founded in 2014, this competition was held biennially until the 3rd competition in 2018, but the 4th competition, which was scheduled to be held in the UK in 2020, was canceled due to the corona pandemic, and this time it was held again in 5 years. After the 3rd tournament held in Incheon in 2018, it was temporarily suspended, but resumed after 5 years. Spain won the first round, the United States won the second round, and Korea, with Park Seong-hyun, Ryu So-yeon, Jeon In-kyung and Kim In-kyung, won the third round in Incheon. In this tournament, Korea will challenge for a second consecutive victory.
In this year’s tournament, eight countries — Korea, the United States, Japan, Sweden, England, Thailand, Australia, and China — are divided into Groups A and B to compete in the group stage. The top two teams from the group stage advance to the semifinals and the winner is determined by a tournament.
The United States, Sweden, England, and China were drawn in Group A, and South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Australia were drawn in Group B.
For Korea, Ko Jin-young, Kim Hyo-joo, Jeon In-ji, and Choi Hye-jin will compete. The 3rd winning member is Inji Jeon.스포츠토토
The United States and Japan are being picked as Korea’s championship rivals. The U.S. team consisted of World No. 1 Nellie Koda, Lexi Thompson, Lilia Bu, and Daniel Kang, while the Japanese team consisted of Nasa Hataoka, Ayaka Furue, Yuka Saso, and Hinako Shibuno.
In the case of the group stage, one team in a group of two will play four-ball (playing with their own ball to get a better score).
In the semifinals, finals, and 3rd-4th place matches, the two players compete with one foursome match and two single matchplay matches.
In the group stage, 1 point is awarded for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Also, in the semifinals, finals, and 3rd-4th place matches, the team that wins 2 points first wins.
Korea faces Australia on the first day of the tournament, Thailand on the 5th, and Japan on the 6th to decide whether to advance to the semifinals.
